Just Keep Swimming

Things haven't changed much in the last week or so.  Things here are...well they just are.  It's probably just me.  I've been in a bit of a funk and can't seem to get out of it.  Maybe it's PMS...which is a real possibility, but I've about had it with that.  I am so super emotional that I started tearing up while watching Rise of the Guardians with John and the kids.  When Jack Frost finds his center and what his purpose is...Ugh!  Yep!  Probably hormones!

Whatever the reason, there seems to be a cloud of sadness over me.  Oh there are occasional breaks in the cloud where the sun (and a smile and maybe even a laugh) can be seen (or heard), but just beyond my eyes is a dam ready to burst and a flood of tears that could well drown a city.  "I'm fine" has become my mantra once again.  Mind you John doesn't like it so well and I do try not to use it, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't.

So what do you do when you don't feel like doing anything?

Mr. Grumpy Gills...I think that's me!

  1. I can completely understand how you are feeling. I have been doing a lot of crying lately myself. I hope you can keep swimming and find yourself in a better place. I'm here if you need to talk.

  2. Crying seems to be something I can't even do anymore. So what does that mean? I know we know each other and how we are alike and yet not, but yet ARE...lol..I don't know what to say. I guess sometimes in your case things just are. Maybe it is time to not fret about that.

I was telling our friend the other night on the phone, " I had a room mate who once explained his former cocaine use to me. He said nothing is as great as the first time. Users spend the rest of their lives trying to get that high again. Perhaps that is what is happening here. When we first experience ttwd the change and the excitement is so fantastic, and wonderful. Now the changes are smaller and not always as frequent". OR if you don't feel comfortable with the drug analogy think of white water rafting. There is a great deal more paddling in calm waters to get to the exciting white water. Perhaps you are just in the paddling ( without paddling lol ) calm water section of the river?

As always I here to commiserate with. Perhaps together we can figure out a way to be content in the 'just there' or 'here' section.

    love willie

  3. Hey P...I know that all the overcast, gloomy weather we have had here has an impact on my emotions. I have to force myself to set one project to get done...just one thing to check off a list seems to make me feel better. Have you had a lot of gloomy weather? Could that be the problem? If not and if you are continuously fighting the blues, do you think maybe you need a physical? Sorry I haven't been of much help. Sending lots of prayers and positive energy your way.

    Blessings,
    Cat

    1. Thanks Cat. The gloomy, cold weather definitely plays a part. The hormones play another. And sometimes when those two meet TTWD...UGH!!!! lol

  6. I honestly think maybe it would be a good idea to journal for a few months (I'm speaking to myself here too) and see what goes on with the hormones. Is there a real connection with cycles or is something else pressing our "down" buttons?

    1. Hmmm...might have to consider that journal. I think I have an idea what is happening, but a journal to be sure wouldn't be a bad idea.

  7. I was hoping to be better at catching up on blogs, and so sorry to see you are feeling like this!
Sometimes just keeping on, keeping on is all you can do until that cloud lifts. Hopefully April will improve things. I am wishing that as well!
    Sending thoughts and prayers.

  10. Thinking of you, sweetie. I can related completely, and I would definitely recommend keeping a journal of your cycle, your emotions, what you eat, exercise, etc....it is really illuminating.
